Irish political parties euroscepticism analysis
Chrudimská, Barbora ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
Ireland is generally seen as one of the biggest supporters of the European Union. Irish public opinion researches have been showing long-term and extremely positive attitudes to the European integration. The pro-European consensus is also known among the local political parties. Moreover, at the end of the 20th century, a strong economic growth had started and the Ireland quickly became a model example of how positive impact the European integration may have on its Member states. European issues therefore did not attract too much attention in the local political discourse. This changed in the early 21st century, when the increasing public euroscepticism began observable. The thesis examines whether selected Irish political parties adapted their rhetoric and actions to ever more critical mood of voters. These are Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party. The thesis covers three critical moments of the Irish European integration, namely the Nice Treaty, the Lisbon Treaty and the Irish debt crisis. It searches for negative comments about the EU and European integration of examined political parties in the campaigns before the referendum on European issues, as well as in their election statements to the Irish parliamentary elections, also taking place in the selected period. The aim of the thesis is...

External Balance of Southern European Countries within the Context of the Global Economic Crisis.
Rakouský, Tomáš ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Jiránková, Martina (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on changes in the external balance of Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain in the period of financial and economic crisis after 2008. The theoretical framework is based on an exact definition of external balance, ultimately as neither surplus nor deficit of a relevant balance in terms of balance of payments. Potential impacts of monetary and fiscal policies on the external balance are described there as well, using the IS-LM-BP model. The second part of the thesis, which employs this theory, is mainly based on an analysis of relevant balances of payments of the aforementioned countries, focusing on their external balance in the period before as well as during the economic crisis. The aim of the analysis is to identify the main causes of external imbalance in the Southern European countries and to find out whether these played a key role as a trigger and accelerator in their recession after 2008. Specific changes during the crisis identified in balances of payments will also be depicted in the IS-LM-BP model. Leading to the conclusion, the outcomes of a correlation analysis are used as well, looking into causal relationships between specific balance of payments variables on the one hand, and macroeconomic variables on the other. A minor part also deals with the role played in this context by the TARGET2 payment system and answers the question to which extent this system took part in the elimination of the external imbalance of the Southern European countries during the crisis.

The topic of this bachelor thesis "The Finance Crisis in U.S. and its consequences" is to analyze the causes and connections that led to the beginning of U.S. mortgage crisis which has become the global financial crisis. The aim of this thesis is to focus on the causes and consequences of this crisis which influenced the U.S. economy in view of the fact that this situation was caused by Fed's policy to a certain extent. I have chosen this topic because this crisis is today still topical and some states are contending whit this crisis. The introductory theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the characterization of the crisis from a general point of view. The next point is summary of the facts about the important crisis which has influenced U.S. in the past -- Great Depression. The main part of thesis deals with the particular causes and reaction on these ones, the sequential course, solving and consequences of this crisis. The main question of this thesis refers to the end of this crisis -- whether the finance crisis which started in 2007 in U.S. is over or continues. And whether due to this crisis it gets in U.S. to the next bursting of bloated bubble and to the new crisis which will be caused by solving current crisis.
